A Call to Friends & Family

Hello to my friends and family (and the strangers who might see this post). Thank you for engaging with this blog post.

I have been working on this website, and trying to learn the ins and outs of getting traffic to the site so that I can actually get some sales. I decided to start my own website because I want to sell online, but the percentage that some of these websites want for listing the items is really ridiculous, I don’t know how anyone makes money listing on them. But I can see how those sites make money. Well, I want the money, I don’t want to give another site 30% of the money.

I work full time, I am not expecting for this to replace that. But, I have a little more than a decade before I can retire, and I would like to have established another source of income for myself and something to keep me occupied, when that time comes. I believe I have plenty of time to learn and grow the business.

One thing I have learned is that I need a web ranking. One way I can get higher on the web ranking is if people visit my page. The more people that visit my page the higher the web ranking, which will determine whether I show up on page 1 of a search or page 30. So, I thought that maybe it would be a good idea to start a blog post on my page as well, and ask you all to engage with my blog. Maybe you don’t want to buy anything from my site, but you still want to support my efforts. You can do that by just visiting my site and helping to improve my ranking.

I will continue to create blog posts as well. Just sharing this little side quest and how it’s going. As of right now, I am still learning, watching tutorials, experimenting, trying to work out exactly how I want my site to look and feel. Since I do work full time, and I also like to be active and social when I am not working, I don’t have a lot of time to devote to this, but I am planning on intentionally setting more time aside for this. I believe in it. I believe in myself. I believe the powers that be will bring me success, if I give it some effort.
